# Compute pushdown Tables backed by a [BigQuery](../../available-connectors/bigquery/index.md), [Databricks](../../available-connectors/databricks/index.md), or [Snowflake](../../available-connectors/snowflake/index.md) connection can push Foundry authored transforms to BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake. This is known as "compute pushdown", and allows Foundry's pipeline management, data lineage, and security functionality to be used on top of data warehouse compute. Use [virtual table](../../data-integration/virtual-tables/index.md) inputs and outputs to push down compute. To use compute pushdown, all inputs and outputs must be virtual tables associated with the same source connection, and that source must be compute pushdown compatible (for example, BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake). ![Compute pushdown architecture diagram.](../../../assets/2998537115056bb8a2209558759e5dc8f5f9ddcc5791e5dc9a6f7736dd17f16b.webp) For more information and code examples, refer to the following source-specific compute pushdown documentation: * [BigQuery compute pushdown](../tables-bigquery/index.md) * [Databricks compute pushdown](../tables-databricks/index.md) * [Snowflake compute pushdown](../tables-snowflake/index.md)
