# Boolean parameter

Create a boolean input field which can be used as a parameter in other cards (filters, for example).

Boolean parameters can also be used to toggle global settings on and off from a Quiver dashboard or analysis; this is connected to the **Allow settings to be controlled** option in Quiver's [global settings](../analysis-settings/index.md#global-settings).
