# Format cells The most commonly used formatting options (styling, numeric/currency formats, freezing panes, etc.) are available in the formatting bar above the spreadsheet. Conditional formatting can be especially useful when coupled with dynamic data from `lookup` functions to offer changing views. ![conditional\_formatting](../../../assets/027461a2643de7a2ecb1bb05740821e7145788a8e04315bdde667d558d507a9e.webp) You can also use the `color` function to add styling to a cell based on custom logic. Similarly, the `tooltip` function can be used to have a tooltip show custom content when the user hovers on a cell. ![tooltip](../../../assets/8e91de0317d07a211e6f4055cfabcaeed802555b6ae108a78f711074658d0e2c.webp) The decimal and thousands separators can be changed by clicking the **Numeric settings** button under the Document tab. ![numeric\_settings](../../../assets/22ed4dc5891de57bbdc1dd5e2ecd5d766592fbacf66de6d5a431c2c6007af711.png)
